Computer Stuff / Work Experience:
I have worked with computers (mostly HP3000s but also PCs) for over 35 years,
The 8 years in California were spent at Lake Tahoe, Boulder Creek, San Jose and Campbell.
I returned to England in 1988 and worked for a Holiday Company for two and a half
years and then became a freelance computer contractor when I was made redundant. I worked on a
couple of contracts which lasted for about 7 years. I currently work for a division of an Italian Oil Company in
the New Forest where I have been for over 8 years. I have mostly moved out of the HP3000 arena and
more into supporting SAP software and writing Visual Basic programs.I also support a Windows NT/2000/XP
network and provide the web content for the company intranet which involves PHP, MySQL, Javascript,
Apache and Oracle. I create websites in my spare time. Enough about computers.
Interests:
I enjoy being with my children, modern jive, mountain biking, walking in the forest (and other places),
the beach, chess, science-fiction, the Internet (website design), Tai-chi, (used to enjoy Aikido),
good food, good wine, good company. My ambition is to become independently wealthy so I can spend more
time pursuing my interests without having to spend my time and energy "chasing the buck".
